Post Christmas Card

Hi,everyone! Yikes, this is the 1st Holiday I've been in MIA (missing in action)!!! I just had so much going on in my life... Transition, Work, Personal issues, death in the family, adapting, coping, and acceptance!!! All this in one season... I think I need to divert. But before I can do that, I need to do it one baby step at a time. Time and Life, is what we all go through. There's always time for things in life... Time for compassion, Time for forgiveness, Time for acceptance, Time for Love.... etc.
Now I make Time for Creativity and Time for Sharing... Here's one you can cherish through out the season (what's left of it :) Maybe you can just change the hat of the owl :)
For the Santa Hat, I just used the Owl Punch and cut the owl in half and make the owl ears as the tip of Santa's Hat :) I also got some mini pom poms for the hat... doesn't it look sooooo cute!!! Always adds that extra touch when you go dimensional :)
Used the glitter paper which I sooo love! Just use the Window Word punch and cut the piece in half, then shape the edges. I'll always be using this paper forever and always.
Used Textured Embossing Folder where you may also use any kind.
I used a stamp set called "Merry Merry Messages" but I'm not sure if it's retired or not. Then I heat embossed the stamp image with Gold Embossing powder :) It took awhile if you are making alot of this cards, but it was fun making them :)
You can find a Polka Dot DSP anywhere these days... it's just darling to use them with a Santa Hat :) hihi.
BTW, I made these owls with my Tags this year and they look so AWESOME!!!!
Have fun making them :)

Thanksgiving Turkey Blossom Box

GOBBLE GOBBLE!!! Happy Thanksgiving to ALL!!! This year's turkey may have to be put on hold but I just could not resist doing it on paper for you :) I brought out my Blossom Box Die #123127 and just thought it would be perfect for a turkey's body. Then came the head and the feathers :)
The Head was made using the following:
- Scallop Oval Punch (for the turkey's face)
- 3/4" Square Punch (for the top hat)
- Window Punch (for the hat's rim)
- 1/2" Circle Punch (for the turkey's eye balls)
- Owl Punch (use the medium circles for turkey's black iris)
- Petite Pennants Builder Punch (for the turkey's neck)
- Blossom Petals Builder Punch (smallest petal for the turkey's beak)
- Heart to Heart punch (use the big heart for the Turkey waddle, use red glitter paper to add some highlight)
The Feathers: Use 4 colors of Cardstock and punch all four petals each)
- Blossom Petals Builder Punch (use the biggest petals for the tail feathers and Smallest, Medium, Large for the wings)
- Emboss the tail feathers to give more texture
- Use Glue Gun to adhere your feathers and turkey head on the box
Well I think that's it!!! Enjoy making your turkey box!!! It's sooo cute and attractive on your Thanksgiving Table :) I hope this was not too late to post but you can always use it next year.
I always thank the LORD for having my blog friends and followers around. You all keep me inspired to create and go on.

Happy Mickey Halloween Box

BOO!! It's Halloween again and I could not pass up this opportunity to share with you a Halloween creation this year. With a box pattern I featured recently, I made Mickey's version of a pirate for Halloween. It came out really cute!!! hehe. All I had to do was just punched out a 1" circle of Basic Black and cut it in half to use as an eye patch to Mickey. Then cut approximately 2-1/2" to 2-3/4" strip to make the strap of the eye patch and adhere on top as illustrated (just trim excess piece).
The colors of Halloween was not too hard to decide on. You may play around with the shades of Orange, Green, Purple with Black. Then you got your traditional Halloween colors!
These boxes can be used as treat boxes for any occasion! To make a Mickey Box, click HERE.

Breast Cancer Pins in Remembrance of Mom

In remembrance of my departed Mother, here is a pin I made and have been wearing in memory of her passing away last month as a result of cancer. May God bless her soul. She had battled cancer for over 20 years but with age, she just had to resign to the disease.
This month of October, the breast cancer awareness month, I would like to dedicate this pin to all those who have survived, battling and past away because of this disease. May it empower and remind us that we have a duty to ourselves to prevent this cancer. And also remembering that we have cancer but cancer does not have us, too.
May God Bless Us All and keep us safe.
I found some jewelry boxes from a department store that my sister stored away and found use for them. I took a 3x3 "Pretty in Pink" SU! cardstock and embossed it to cover the top of the box. I also cut a 3 x 3 "Very Vanila" SU! cardstock and stamped it with a caption "Hope is... believing in a brighter tomorrow" from an retired SU! Stamp Set, then adhered the caption behind the cover of the box.
With the ribbon, I cut a 6", 7/8" black grosgrain ribbon and slant-cut both ends. With a 3/4" pink grosgrain ribbon, I cut a 3" piece to stick it to the right side of the crossed-ribbon. Just to put a little touch to it, I added a pink rhinestone "stick-on" to it, as illustrated.
Use glue gun to piece the ribbons together. I also used a 1" bar pin and glued it behind the ribbon vertically. NOTE: position the pin fastener on top for easier pinning.
The design of this ribbon was researched by my brother. A pink ribbon connotes a survivor or a cancer patient and a black ribbon with a pink half ribbon signifies that a love one passed away.
I dedicate this post to my mom. May you rest in peace, mommy. I love you and I miss you.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! When God brought you together over fifty years ago, He gave your love, His blessings and encouraged it to grow. My New Blog Banner - Spring Forest

Hi! It's been a long time since I've updated my Blog Banner. I was beginning to believe that it will never be changed.... nah!!! I need change and I did!!! Spring has finally sprung and I guess this banner will last me until Fall... hahaha. Oh well, we'll just have to be happy with what we have... I'm ok, I'm still creating. The juices are still flowing..hehe.

Anyway, here's my so called "Spring Forest" which I splashed colors of Spring then I decided that I had to combine colors and move on to Summer... why not??!!! Before we know it, it's here. I'm still feeling the winter here in SoCal and it's not funny anymore. So with a little spring-like feeling, I just had to make my own forest :)

I hope you like it. I'm sure you'd like to know how I made my riding hood :) It's obvious, I made her hoody with the ornament punch. Her face is tricky, where I had to use my large oval punch #119855 and punched out the first punch piece to make it smaller for a face that would fit the hoody. If not, the oval will be bigger than your ornament punch.

Other Punch used:
- used the Cupcake Builder Punch #121807 for the eyes.
- Petite Pennant Builder #122361 for the body
- Blossoms Petals Builder #121808 for the Orange Tree
- 2-1/2" Circle Punch #120906 - for the Island Indigo Tree
- 1-3/8" Circle Punch #119860 - for the Melon Mambo Tree
- Bird Builder Punch #117191 - for the green Certainly Celery and Garden Green Trees
- Itty Bitty Punch Pack #118309 - for the flowers on the tree, Riding Hood's ribbon and Riding Hood's hand (with 2 petals cut off)
- Jewelry Tag #117190 - for Riding Hood's arm
- Heart to Heart #119881- using the medium heart - for the feet
- Owl Punch ##118074 - for the owl
- 1/2", 3/4", 1" Circle punch for the 3-tiered Tree
- Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die #120893 - for the Early Espresso bottom Scallop border
- Branches/Barks of the tree were done with Freehand cut
- Textured Impression Folder - Adorning Accents #125601 - for the Melon Mambo Ground texture
- DSP (I used an old one and you may just find an Old Olive DSP design too)
- 1/2" Circle Punch - for the round decor on the bottom Scallop Boarder

Ok, I guess that's it! Let me know if I missed some details for you. Have a nice day and just be happy :) Smile Always :)

Valentine Cupcake

It's soon here and can't resist making anything with hearts! I have my cupcake tutorial available for purchase.

For the heart on top of the cupcake, I used 2 pieces of hearts using Full Heart Punch #119883 (front and back) and 1 piece of the Embosslits Die Scallop Heart of Hearts #117332 to put in between the Full Heart pieces.

Use a toothpick and insert it through the heart and then insert the other end of the toothpick through the top of the cupcake box. To seal it in place, adhere a ribbon on the base of the heart with glue gun. If the toothpick sticks to long inside the box, just cut it with scissors from inside the box.

Notice that I used a piece from the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch #122464 and placed the piece on the surface of the cupcake :)

Supplies used:
Cardstock:
- Pink Pirouette
- Chocolate Chip Brown
- Very Vanilla
- Glitter Paper (Red)

Valentine Ripple Heart Box

Hearts, Hearts, Hearts...!!! Do you know I'm a heart person myself. I like things with hearts or anything that look like hearts even. On this share, I used my favorite Embosslits Die, Scalloped Heart of Hearts #117332. Not only does it emboss hearts but it also cuts your scalloped heart to fit your punch heart pieces :) It always makes a big impression on any heart project.

Another favorite highlight is the Simply Scored Scoring Tool #122334!! I hope you get this tool because you can do more with 3d projects with ease and control :)

TO DO THE RIPPLE EFFECT ON THE EDGE OF THE HEART:

Take a 1-1/2" x 12" cardstock (I used the Very Vanilla on this project), then score them at 1/2" interval on one side and 1/2" interval on the flip side starting at 1/4". Then cut the cardstock at 3/4", length-wise, getting 2 pieces. Fold the scores to get ripples.

You will need to cut the cardstock in halves again by hand... if you are not confident about cutting them by freehand... you may use your cutter (but it will be hard since you already scored them). Don't worry about an uneven cut :)

Take your Scalloped Heart and glue one side of the heart with glue gun then position your rippled cardstock to go clockwise around the heart. You may need to do this process half side of the heart at a time since the glue gun dries fast. Remember to position the ripples close to the edge of the heart and position ripples apart from each other. Positioning these ripples around the edge of the heart may need practice, so be patient:) Don't worry, it's not as hard as it looks. Have fun!!!

I applied glue gun onto the tip end of the heart and the valley end of the rippled edge of the heart onto the box.

Here's another box color. It looks good at any color for any occasion or event :)

OTHER SUPPLIES USED:
Big Shot Die:
- Bitty Box Envelope #115967
- Embosslits Die - Scalloped Heart of Hearts #117332
Punch:
- Small Heart #117193
Paper:
- Glimmer Paper- Silver - #124005
- Glimmer Paper- Red - #121790
